Cosmetic Surgery

This surgery is an optional procedure which is performed on the normal parts of our body with just the purpose to improve the appearance of a person and to remove the signs of aging. In 2006, there are almost 11 million of the cosmetic procedures that were performed in the US alone. The numbers of the cosmetic procedures have been performed in 2007, with five of the most common surgeries in the liposuction, breast augmentation, eyelid surgery, nasal surgery and the abdominoplasty. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has looked at the statistics for 34 various cosmetic procedures. 19 of these procedures are surgical just like the facelift or rhinoplasty.

The non-surgical procedures have included the laser hair removal and Botox. Their survey in 2010 has revealed that there have been 9,336,814 total procedures in the US and 1,622,290 of the procedures are surgical. They found as well that a large majority which is 81 percent of the procedures have been done on Caucasian people. The increased usage of the cosmetic procedures crossed ethnic and racial lines in the US with the increase seen on the Asian Americans, African Americans, and on the Hispanic Americans, and the Caucasian American also.

Most of the prevalent cosmetic or aesthetic procedures include Blepharoplasty, Abdominoplasty, Mammoplasty (including the mammoplasty reduction, breast augmentation and mastopexy), Chemical peel, Buttock augmentation, Rhinoplasty, Labiaplasty, Crylipolysis, Lip enhancement, Rhytidectomy, Cheek augmentation, Genioplasty, Liposuction, Orthognathis surgery, Keloid removal, laser resurfacing or skin rejuvenation, and posthectomy. The most famous among the surgery procedures are Liposuction, Botox, Breast implants, facelifts, nose jobs and the eyelid surgery.
