Minilift facelift Albany - Weekend Lift Upstate New York - Lifestyle Lift

Serving Albany, Saratoga Springs, Schenectady, Capital District and Troy, New York

What if you were thinking, I am not quite ready for a facelift, but I think I could benefit from a little “nip and tuck” to clean up around my jaw and neck line. Minilifts are variations on conventional facelift surgery that go by many names including S-Lifts, Weekend Lifts, and Lifestyle Lifts, and are designed to accomplish just this sort of thing. These procedures, although not really a new concept, have witnessed a resurgence in popularity as they fulfill an important niche in the aesthetic surgical landscape by providing conservative facial rejuvenation in individuals with active lifestyles at an acceptable price point. Appropriate patient selection is critical to success. Candidates for this procedure are in their mid 30s to early 40s. They should be in excellent overall health, thin, with mild skin laxity, and mild jowling. Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Falk will be able to make this determination at the time of consultation based on a thorough review of your medical history together with a comprehensive exam, and discussion of realistic expectations from surgery.

Procedure

The procedure is performed in the office setting rather than operating room using only local anesthesia, eliminating facility fees and additional anesthetic related expenses. They are relatively quick procedures with minimal downtime. Theoretically, the procedure can be done on a Thursday and after an extended weekend, the patient is able to return to work on the following Monday. The incisions are limited to the area in front of the ears. Tissue suspension is accomplished with sutures, and there is conservative trimming of redundant skin. The incisions are closed with buried sutures. A light dressing is applied.

Recovery

The immediate recovery is limited to a few days of isolation. Afterwards, one is less likely to be self-conscious about their appearance. Nevertheless, complete wound healing, as is the case for any surgical procedure, is considerably longer. The light dressing is removed 24 hours later at the time of a follow up appointment the next day. Pain is mild and easily controlled with prescription medication. Bruising and swelling are kept to a minimum, and head elevation and cooling is helpful. The incisions lines are well concealed with hairstyling. Although complications are rare and we do everything in our power to minimize their occurrence, all surgery is not without some risk. The common complications include blood accumulation in the wound after closure and infection. If these complications were to occur, they are generally easily managed without compromise to final aesthetic result.
