BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA approved for treatment of lines between the brows. BOTOX® has limitations, it can not change the texture of your skin nor can it fill in deep wrinkles, and so it is often combined with other minimally invasive treatments at the Center for Facial Plastic Surgery and Laser Skin Care. Complimentary procedures performed by Dr. Falk include fillers and laser procedures.

Procedure

It is our policy that only physicians, either Dr. Falk or one of his associates, administers BOTOX® at the Center for Facial Plastic Surgery. The treatment is relatively straight forward. The areas to be treated are first marked and reviewed with the patient. Pain is minimized thorough application of prescription topical analgesics and supplemental cooling. The BOTOX® is injected with a tiny needle, and treatment typically takes just a few minutes. Ice is applied after the treatment as well. The patient may apply makeup. Gradually over the next 48 hrs the effect takes hold. It is our philosophy that in order to achieve the most natural results, it is better to err on the side of under treatment rather than over treatment, thus our patients are advised to contact the office in 72 hours, for reevaluation should they desire greater correction.

Recovery

Occasionally, patients may experience some redness and mild bruising at the injection sites. After the procedure you are asked not to message the area and are advised to stay upright for few hours. Although side effects are rare, the most common adverse event may be a slight headache for 24 hrs.
