Procedure

The procedure is performed in the office setting with local infiltration analgesia and mild oral sedations. Any where from two to six pairs of sutures are placed on either side.

Recovery

Recovery from a thread lift is relatively rapid, generally requiring no more than a weekend to recover. Moderate post-procedural swelling and mild discomfort is expected which can easily be controlled with analgesics prescribed by your surgeon. Patients return the following day for reevaluation and minor adjustments of the sutures. There can be gathering of advanced skin behind the ears which can take up to three weeks to resolve. Patients are to restrain from physical exertion or excessive facial animation for 2 weeks.
