BeforeAfter

This fair skinned woman came to see me about a skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma) of the nasal tip. The cancer of the nasal tip was removed and margins were checked at the time of surgery by the pathologist (frozen section control), to insure complete removal. She then underwent immediate reconstruction of the defect with a healthy skin flap rotated from the side of her nose (bilobed flap).
BeforeAfter

This patient presented with a history of a recurrent skin cancer on the left side of her nose and cheek (basal cell carcinoma). The cancer was removed by a Mohs Surgeon, who is a dermatologist that specializes in the precise removal of skin cancers. The reconstruction was accomplished in a series of stages using a skin flap rotated from her forehead and a skin flap advanced from her cheek. She also required ear cartilage to reconstruct her nostril (nasal lobule). Erbium laser resurfacing helped to further blend and hide scars.
